What is a quality early childhood program?

It is a program that meets all licensing standards and in addition has taken time to increase the quality beyond minimal standards. It is a program that goes beyond providing safe and healthy care to also provide care that supports all aspects of the child's development.

What is the Quality Child Care Initiative?

The Quality Child Care Initiative (QCCI) is an organization of child care center and preschool directors who act as mentors for centers who wish to increase the quality of their programs. These directors have completed an intensive year of evaluation their own program under the supervision of an early childhood consultant and a director/mentor using a national evaluation instrument. The work of the QCCI is endorsed by the Saginaw Intermediate School District.
